Norblack Norwhite is a design house and cultural platform inspired by handcrafted textiles committed to redefining the stereotypes around a contemporary India. For 14 years, Nbnw has been refreshing the language, aesthetic and stories by interpreting a refreshing way of celebrating what “Made in India” looks like today. 

Raised in Toronto of Indian heritage, founders Amrit Kumar and Mriga Kapadiya set out to explore and live in India with intentions to reinterpret the ancient practices of Indian textile design and to create a safe platform they craved when growing up as diaspora, for people to embrace the idea of identifying with multiple cultures, exploring the grey space on all levels while living in color. 

Being women-powered, Nbnw is committed to telling stories of women of color; they are constantly exploring the politics of aesthetic, identity & diversity of culture in textile and visual forms. Norblack Norwhite explores the grey space by being partly an anthropological experiment, part art and part fashion.
